Nosferatu is a 2D Platformer video game developed and published by SETA Corporation. It was released in Japan on October 7, 1994, followed by North America in October 1995 on the Super Nintendo. It falls into the category of cinematic platform games, similar to the Prince of Persia, Flashback or Blackthorne games.
The game begins when a young man, Kyle, breaks into Nosferatu Castle, in an attempt to save his fiancée Erin, who has been kidnapped by the vampire. The castle is filled with traps and minions from Nosferatu.
The game consists of 6 levels, kept in order by a werewolf, twin orangutans, a vampire zombie, a ghost, a golem and finally Nosferatu. The melee combat mode is reminiscent of the Double dragon and Final fight series. Collecting red crystals increases the strength of attacks.
The sound environment is the work of Masanao Akahori of the company Opus corp. Although little known, the game was very well received.
